Schruns and Tschagguns are often mentioned in the same breath. Not surprising since together they form the centre of the Montafon valley. It is also the busiest part of the Montafon valley with the most buildings and amenities.
Schruns is characterised by its somewhat large-scale layout. Not only in the centre – but also outside it – is a lot of construction. Tschagguns is slightly quieter than Schruns and therefore slightly more popular with families with small children. For something more lively, you can walk to Schruns where there are many shops. In Tschagguns you don’t have many, apart from a single supermarket. However, there are plenty of restaurants and bars. Both cores are separated by a through road.
There is a train station in Schruns, which is the end of the so-called Montafonerbahn. So you can easily get here by train.Schruns – Tschagguns is also easy to reach by car. You rarely need snow chains in this wide, flat valley. Silvretta Montafon can be reached by gondola directly from Schruns, and by car or bus Golm and Kristberg are also quickly within reach. There are also three toboggan runs, an indoor artificial ice rink, cross-country ski trails and hiking trails. Professional ski schools (with all disciplines), guided ski tours, ice climbing, swimming, tennis, paragliding. So the choice is vast.
