It’s also notable for hosting the world’s biggest collection of large bottle Bordeaux wines outside of Bordeaux and can trace its roots back to medieval times and the year 1386. Other famed culinary institutions include the Hospiz Hotel. Its fair to say that St. Christoph is more about offering you the refined and finer things in life. Après-ski here is more concerned with traditional, hearty Austrian fare and sumptuous relaxation.
St. Christoph can also lay claim to being the Arlberg’s cultural capital with its incredible Cultural Centre and Contemporary Art and Concert Hall. Not only is this the highest lying art gallery in the world, with a 259m² concert hall hosting jazz, classical, solo and chamber music and 700m² of exhibition space with a ceiling reaching up to 9m, it is certainly the most impressive.
Offering ski in and ski out access in idyllic, serene seclusion, St. Christoph is home to the world famous Arlberg Ski Club.
A wide array of slopes are available catering to all levels from tots through to experts. For those after something more sedate or looking to build their confidence, beginner routes and intermediate pistes allow you to easily glide the whole region sticking to blues and reds. For the more adventurous and adrenaline minded, the outstanding off piste to the south of the village is some of the very best the Arlberg has to offer.
Benefiting from its high altitude of 1,793m, snow is guaranteed for the entire season. The opening of the new Flexenbahn lift connecting the St. Anton and Lech sides of the Arlberg means that direct access to the entire region and all 305km of slopesand 111 lifts of the region is now made even easier.
