Costa Brava
With a name meaning fierce coast, it is known as one of the most famous Spanish coastlines. Stretching from the French border to just north of Barcelona with picture-perfect beaches and collection of quaint Spanish beach towns, its steep cliffs and small romantic coves are the images from which postcards are made.
The region brilliantly shines with the Gulf of Roses, the 15 km sunlit curve of long sandy beaches from the Cap de Creus peninsula in the north to the Montgri range in the south. The 160km of beaches in this region has remained true to its environment emphasizing the lush vegetation, natural reserves and golden sand.
This is also home to the Empuriabrava marina, with over 5,000 mooring sites, an extensive network of channels and a small aerodrome for light aircraft and helicopters. Adding to the beaches are the countless activities available from hiking and cycling to diving and water sports to sailing and horseback riding. Costa Brava is a fierce coast with an intensity for the finer things in life.
