Ehrwald, a Tyrolean mountain village on the sunny side of the Zugspitze, is only about 20 minutes by car from Garmisch-Partenkirchen. With over 2500 inhabitants, it is the largest village in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. There are three ski areas right in the village: Ehrwalder Alm, Wettersteinbahnen / Sonnenhanglifte and the Zugspitze. The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena boasts seven ski areas – 125 kilometres of pistes (105 of which are snow-covered) and 58 mountain lifts. From easy pistes for families and beginners to challenging runs for experienced skiers, everything is on offer.
In summer, the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena opens up countless possibilities: Golfing on the 9-hole golf course with a view of the Zugspitze, crystal-clear mountain lakes, via ferratas and countless hiking and mountain biking routes. The view of the heights of the Wetterstein and Ammer mountains, the Lechtal Alps, the Mieminger Kette or directly to the highest mountain in Germany, the Zugspitze, leaves nothing to be desired.
