Zürs is one of the most renowned winter sports resorts in the Alps. It is part of the Arlberg ski region, which compromises the resorts of Lech, Oberlech, StAnton & Warth.
Tourism in the Arlberg dates back to the 19th century but the invention of Alpine skiing largely pioneered in the Arlberg, created its world class reputation for winter sports. At 1,700 m (5,600 ft) the resort is incredibly snow sure, an important consideration in today’s world. Skiing remains at the core of the Zürs tourist offer. In 2020, the resort developed runs ending at the newly constructed floodlit Flexenarena in order to host the first ever World Cup ski race in Zürs.
The Arlberg ski area now consists of over 340 kms of groomed ski runs & 200 kms of off piste skiing and offers one of the rare opportunities in the Alps to enjoy the experience of heli-skiing. Combined with a continual policy of upgrading ski lifts & investing in infrastructure, the future of Zürs as one of the premier ski destinations in the Alps looks secure.
